Step 1: calculate volume of a ROUND or RECTANGULAR kiddie pool .
Enter your pool's dimensions (maximum distance across) in inches.
If you need to, you can use the conversion calculator to convert a measurement of, say, 4' 6" to 54".
Enter your pool's depth at the fill line.
Press the calculate buttons, to figure the volume in gallons, or if you have an odd shaped pool, enter the gallons manually in the "Entered gallons" box.
Step 2: calculate kiddie pool doses.
If you didn't calculate your pool's volume, enter it in the "Entered gallons" box.
Press the "calculate doses" button. The bottom section will display doses for your pools in cups, tablespoons, OR teaspoons. Use which ever measurement is appropriate . . . but do not add doses . That is, either use, for example, 0.5 cups or 8 Tablespoons, but not both.
If you need to recalculate, press the "Oops!" button, and start over.
Caution:
This calculator is not yet fully tested: use at your own risk! I don't guarantee anything, except that there might be errors.
And remember, this calculator uses American units of weight, length, and volume.

Approximate Kiddie Pool Chemical Doses
Household bleach
5.25% active
(~10ppm cleanup dose)
cups, or
Tablespoons, or
teaspoons
Dichlor powder
55% - 62% active
(~ 3ppm daily dose)
cups, or
Tablespoons, or
teaspoons
Borax
(startup dose)
cups, or
Tablespoons, or
teaspoons
60% Poly algaecide
(2x weekly dose)
cups, or
Tablespoons, or
teaspoons
Important:
The doses given above are approximate: accurate doses would be in pounds or grams, but since most pool owners don't use a scale to weigh their chemicals, I've used approximate volume measurements. TEST after dosing with bleach or dichlor, to verify results. Borax and algaecide doses are close enough.
