It's wierd, it's confusing, and it's caused problems when subscribers' didn't understand clearly. . . so I'll emphasize it now: all subscriptions to PoolSolutionsnd on June 30, regardless of when they begin! [Subscriptions entered after Feb. 1, 2001 will NOT expire until June 30, 2002]
There's a very simple reason for this: I'm already spending WAY too much time on 'housekeeping' the PoolSolutions' website. Managing multiple start/end dates for subscriptions is more than I can tackle right now.
That said, once you get used to the idea, it's not that wierd. Unlike a magazine subscription -- where issues you miss, you miss -- ALL previous issues are posted on the website, and are available to ALL subscribers. So, if you choose, a single subscription actually gives you not only this year's PoolLetters, but the last two year's letters, as well.
Also, subscriptions are to the website, not to the PoolLetter. All subscriptions include the full version of the PoolLetter, a priority contact email address, and a password and user ID pair for access to the protected PoolSolutions webpages.
Please note: I can guarantee that I will email the PoolLetters to you, but not that you will receive them. AOL is especially bad about destroying longer emails like my PoolLetter; I've done all I can to maximize your chance of receiving what I mail. (It's not just me that this happens to. If you often have people trying to send you emails over 15k, or with attachments, the odds are, you are losing some of them. The severity of the problem varies with how badly overloaded AOL's internal network is at any given moment.) I have had to split the PoolLetter into two parts: the "PoolNotice", which includes all the 'housekeeping' info, and any off topic or personal information, and the "PoolLetter" itself. this These include the web addresses you need, and are short enough to normally survive AOL's "squashing" process intact.
But, if you miss a particular letter, you can always read it on the website, later.
Subscriptions rates for home poolowners NOT associated with the pool industry, are $27. But, full information is available in the PoolLetter rates page.
If you have tried to subscribe, and for whatever reason the process failed, I have some possible answers. And if you have questions about the two versions of the PoolLetter, I may have answers for those questions, too.
